CND’s NGO side meeting at the Non-Proliferation Treaty Preparatory Committee
A national debate on the replacement of the existing Trident nuclear weapon system is now developing in the UK, with questions of post-Cold War security, the impact of austerity, and a vote on the independence of Scotland all shaping the discussion.
CND’s side meeting will present different political perspectives from the UK on the prospects for nuclear disarmament, and outline CND’s campaign to ensure the UK’s Non-Proliferation Treaty disarmament commitments are met.
