National Day of Protest: People Protest against India-Japan Nuclear Agreement

25th January 2014 was observed as the national day of protest against the India-Japan nuclear agreement, which was a key agenda during the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's recent visit to India. The poster protest initiated by CNDP received very good response from the people.

Mr. Abe, Fix Fukushima First! You’re Welcome to India, Nukes are Not!! [Urgent Campaign Update]

The campaign launched by the Coalition for Disarmament and Peace(CNDP) against the India-Japan nuclear agreement, which has been in pipeline for several years and is likely to be culminated during the Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe's upcoming visit to New Delhi, has recieved extremely encouraging response from people all over the world, especially in India and Japan. For us, this support vindicates our firm belief that this nuclear agreement is anachronistic, absurd and unacceptable to people in Japan who are witnessing a still unfolding disaster in Japan, and people in India who are brutally silenced by their government indulging in nuclear expansion misadventure. It is heartening to see that this camaign has received solidarity from people across the world who realise the risks of nuclear energy in a post-Fukushima world.

Lame-duck PM’s nuclear misadventure in Haryana must be condemned: CNDP Statement

We urge that the PM should restrain from inaugurating the Gorakhpur nuclear project and immediately organise wider consultations with the local community, civil society groups and independent experts. These must address the issue of the Environmental Impact Assessment process, which has been turned into a mockery by ignoring and suppressing the crucial issue of radiation impacts. We strongly such misadventure by a lame-duck outgoing prime Minister.

Creating a Nuclear Free World: CNDP Youth Workshop [New Delhi, Feb 1&2, 2014]

Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace is organising a 2-day Youth Workshop in New Delhi on 'Creating a Nuclear Free Workshop' to sensitize the youth about nuclear issues and actively engage with them to promote global nuclear disarmament and a nuclear-energy free society.
